THE GIFT OF DISCERNMENT

Have you ever walked into a room and sensed that something was amiss? Maybe when you arrived at church and you somehow knew that the spirit isn't quite right with the praise team, staff, or even the Pastor! Or maybe you walk into a room and suddenly sense there is a problem. The best one of all is when out of nowhere you have a feeling that something negative is going to happen or even worse! 

       The opposite is true as well. Have you ever just had overwhelming feelings of a positive nature? The same thing can happen at church, home, business, or wherever you may be. Friends, that phenomenon is a spiritual gift called, the gift of discernment. This gift happens to be one of my spiritual gifts and it comes with a price. Like everything else it has its ups and downs.

       I have been asked about this gift several times and just want to shed a little light on it for those that are curious.  First off, You have heard of Women’s Intuition, which women have, it is very similar to that but on a much higher scale.

      The gift of discernment is the special ability that God gives to certain members of the body of Christ to distinguish between truth and error, and to know with assurance whether certain behavior purported to be of God is in reality divine, human, or satanic in origin.

People with this gift:
 Distinguish truth from error, right from wrong, pure motives from impure; identify deception in others with accuracy and appropriateness; determine whether a testimony attributed to God is authentic; recognize inconsistencies in a teaching, prophetic message or interpretation; are able to sense the presence of evil.

A person with this gift is usually:

Perceptive

Decisive

Insightful

Intuitive

Sensitive

Truthful

Challenging

Discriminating

People with this gift:

May struggle with how to express their perceptions, feelings or insights; could be harsh when confronting others, instead of speaking the truth in love; need to confirm their perceptions before speaking.

My friends do you have the gift of discernment? If you do, it is because God has a purpose for you and will put you in a place where you are to use the gift. Don't ignore it, use it!
